GET TO KNOW ST. PETER'S NURSERY SCHOOL

Established in the fall of 1982 and sponsored by the church as a self-sustaining non-profit, non-denominational entity,
St. Peter's Nursery School has a rich history of serving the needs of families with toddlers and preschoolers. The school has grown from a traditional nursery school to one with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day options with flexible scheduling and extended hours developed to focus on the needs of each child and his/her family. In fact, we are now educating the children of former students!

Children are admitted from any religious, racial or economic background, regardless of disability, cultural heritage, national origin, parent's political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital status.

Licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), we can accommodate as many as 33 children per day, September-June. In addition, we offer a six-week Summer Program for 2-6 year-old children during July and August.

We currently have a certified staff of 5 outstanding teachers. All staff members participate in Early Childhood coursework and workshops to stay current in the field. CORI reports are filed annually. Staff members are certified annually in Pediatric Plus - Infant and Child First Aid, CPR and AED.

ORGANIZATION INFORMATION

We are a non-profit Corporation with a membership of 12, comprised of current & former Nursery School parents and members of the community. The 9 Trustees are chosen from the Corporation to meet monthly and make decisions regarding policies, procedures and fundraising activities. There is an Executive Committee: President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Clerk. Members of the Corporation and Trustees are elected for a 1-year term at our Annual Meeting in August. In addition to the 9 Trustee Members, the Rector and Junior Warden of St. Peter's Church, or other Vestry appointed representative, are included in the Trustee membership.

Our fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends June 30. Our income relies primarily on tuition paid by parents of our students, supplemented by fund raising events and thoughtful donors.
